Spring is here together with school graduations and all. Is there anything better than celebrating spring with good gifts? “Ylioppilas arvostaa lahjaa omaan kotiin.” The graduate appreciates presents for home, writes the finnish magazine Avotakka (5/2010). “If you want to give a present that lasts, choose a future classic.”
Finnish magazine Deko (5/2010) listed the top 20 new finnish designs for the year 2010. “Parasta Suomi-designia”. The Cobo-lamp is positioned nr 16 amongst Harri Koskinen, Ilmari Tapiovaara, Anna Katariina Tilli and many other designers’ creations. Simply put: Top finnish design.
Spring 2010 campaign. Celebrating the coming summer.
The biggest project this spring was the design and renovation of Lumenor’s new showroom, office-space, staff-kitchen and more. Now it’s ready! Lumenor represent the following brands: Ekobo, Fatboy, Jieldé and Sonoro. Be sure to check them out! The showroom was built in a space what looked like to have been a machinery/industry room. A lot of this feeling was transfered into the rough interior of the new showroom, where the products take the spotlight.

Cable Fair is a new generation art & design fair where the content is a creative hub of crazy and stylish mixture. Cable Fair is a direct sales happening for established and non-established creators. The aim is to blurr the lines between the creative industry services providers and enable new cooperative projects and a meeting place for those interesting in developing such.
The organiser is ArtShortCut whose mission is in creating shortcuts to the arts
New projects this spring include private home’s interior and implementation of new furniture (shelving) consepts. These consepts will be presented later this summer/autumn 2010 once they have been tested in use, photographed and attracted some publicity. (mobile pictures)
The Habitare 2010 design fair in Helsinki will be held 5.-9.9.2010. New products will be introduced here! More about the upcoming fair later on.
These products will be sold at the upcoming Cable fair. A small limited edition of the Vino -glass will be available together with the white and red Cobo -lamps (special fair price). Come and check them out!
ArtShortCut is a cultural production company established in 2008 and was born out of the need to give people who are interested in art and a visual discussion easy access to art works and the skill-set that artists have. The founders of ASC realised how the workings of the art world and market are hard for an outsider to understand and the messages sent from the market are confusing and often un-inviting. Hence ASC was set up to provide advice and help at a level wished for.

I was glad to see the Cobo at Skanno’s new showroom. Skanno’s Design Factory Outlet has opened its doors. The opening takes place this weekend, Saturday – Sunday. This unforeseen finnish concept store combines interior design, art gallery, hardware, book store and different cultural events. www.skanno.fi
