Pientä pintaremonttia (Small makeovers) got a new cool facelift. Check it out! The new season starts today at 20:00 (MTV3). The paintings seen in the new studio, amongst many others, will be exhibited later this Autumn (a pop-up exhibition).
Helsinki’s smallest hotell is a one room hotell with 18 sqm. I was surprised to find this small article in Deko 6/11, since the pictures looked somewhat familiar. Of course, it didn’t take me more than a quarter of a second to realise this one-roomer used to be my studio, only six moths back in time. A night here costs between 90-110€. Nice!
This new studio will be seen on TV this autumn. It’s designed for the home interior program Pientä pintaremonttia (Small makeovers) that airs Tuesdays at 8 pm on Finnish national television.
Lauttasaari Water Tower, situated in the southwestern part of Helsinki, offers incredible views over the city and archipelago. The tower has not been in use since the mid of 90′s. The future of the empty and decayed water tower has been unsure for a long time, until Helsinki city’s real estate department decided to put the tower for sale. A competition was held to obtain ideas for reuse of the tower.
In this design, the tower could hold 13 apartments with a total of 2100 sqm. Six ideas came in, and this is a glimpse of the one I’ve been contributing in. Round two is about to begin…
Sometimes I have to admit, I don’t get the ready made consepts… If you still think the original is “better”, please mail me and tell that.

The exhibition brings together the University’s various training programs covering a wide range of design, media and art. In addition to the objects, installations, film and new media applications, the exhibition offers educational events and workshops. Open 12.1 – 27.2.2011.
This leather accessory, amongst a collection of others, was designed with collegue Sebastian Jansson & shot by Anton Sucksdorff some time ago. The ‘leather collection’ was originally designed to our exhibition “One Night Stand”, that held place in December 2009. The accessories are made from production leftovers. Autumn has come and gone, soon “looking towards” a cold and snowy winter. I’ve been really busy lately, doing Mtv3 shoots for a television programme, produced by Nordisk Film TV. Above is a pic from the shoots and my new&temporary awsome studio.
