


Lauttasaari Water Tower, situated in the southwestern part of Helsinki, offers incredible views over the city and archipelago. The tower has not been in use since the mid of 90′s. The future of the empty and decayed water tower has been unsure for a long time, until Helsinki city’s real estate department decided to put the tower for sale. A competition was held to obtain ideas for reuse of the tower.
In this design, the tower could hold 13 apartments with a total of 2100 sqm. Six ideas came in, and this is a glimpse of the one I’ve been contributing in. Round two is about to begin…
